CSU Summer Arts at CSUMB

CSUMB staff and faculty (State) use CMS Human Resources for self-service functions (e.g. W-2, emergency, training and absence reporting) and to enter specialized information such as student assistant time approvals and payroll reports.

Access is granted contingent upon meeting the following requirements:

1.Submit approved Data Access Request (DAR) form (new users and for additional access);

2.Complete CSUMB Information Security training (State-side version) and Confidentiality Statement; and

3.Complete Human Resources function-specific training (non-self service functions):

The following lists common CMS HR functions and their corresponding training requirements. Additional documentation is maintained in the M:/Technology Training/public/CMS Human Resources 9.0 folder.

Employee Self Service No training or access request is required for self service functions. Employees may use this job aid to review available functions (e.g. address, phone and/or emergency contacts).
Enter Absences - Self Service No training or access request is required. Employees may view this video and/or use job aids to View Available Balances and Report Absences.
Review Absences - Timekeeper Access request (DAR) is required. Timekeepers may view this video and/or use this job aid for instructions.
Manage Absences - MPP No training is required. Notify Payroll of Alternates and/or Proxy. MPP or Appropriate Administrators may view this video and/or use this job aid for instructions on approving time and viewing employee absence balances.

Approve Student Assistant hours worked Access request (DAR) is required. No training is required. Use on-line procedures or job aid for instrcutions.

Confidentiality

Submit the appropriate certificate or confidentiality statement from either Option 1 or 2 below. Do this one-time only, the first time you request access.

Option 1: Information Security Training

The preferred option is to complete the Information Security training at CSUMB (State-side version) to satisfy this requirement. If you have not taken the Information Security training or need to be signed up for it send an email to informationsecuritytraining@csumb.edu.

Option 2: Confidentiality Statement Form

If you have not completed the State-side Information Security Training you may submit the appropriately signed staff or faculty confidentiality statement along with your Data Access Request Form:

Route the completed, signed form to the ASM Security Analyst, Mountain Hall Suite D.

Obtain the appropriate Dean/Director signatures. Bring the Data Access Request form to training to obtain trainers signature. Route the completed, signed Data Access Request form to the ASM Security Analyst, Mountain Hall Suite D.
